West Ham are lining up a £12m bid for Eredivisie goal machine Wilfried Bony as Sam Allardyce prepares to be snubbed by Liverpool striker Andy Carroll according to the Daily Telegraph.

Some sources have stated that the England international is after a hefty £100k a week deal if he is to join West Ham, the side he spent last season on loan with, a deal that the Upton Park side may well be reticent about paying.

Bony had an excellent season with Vitesse Arnhem last term, netting 31 goals to finish as the top scorer in the Dutch top tier.

The powerful Ivory Coast international is physically suited to a move to the Premier League and could arguably prove a move intelligent purchase than a move for Carroll, who had a fairly successful season at the East London club last term though his seven goal haul in 24 Premier League matches wasn’t all that prolific.

Allardyce may well feel that Bony has the potential to transfer his goal scoring exploits to the English top tier and given that Liverpool would presumably seek a bigger fee for Carroll a £12m bid for the former Sparta Prague man may be a good option to consider.
