Norwich City are rumoured to have agreed a £4million fee with PSV Eindhoven for the signing of Swedish international Ola Toivonen, according to Sky Sports.

The 26-year-old has scored 59 goals in four years with the Dutch club, and was rumoured to be looking for a move to the Premier League this summer.

Sunderland have shown an interest in him in the past, but he now looks set to become Chris Hughton’s second signing of the summer, after signing Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel from Sporting Lisbon.

A deal has not yet been completed, and PSV technical director Marcel Brands claims there is interest from a number of clubs in Toivonen.

He said: “There is real interest [from Norwich], and also from a number of clubs.”

Toivonen has previously expressed his concern that PSV’s asking price has been too high and put off any potential bidders, saying: “The asking price is too high. I’ve said it before and I continue to say it.”

Still, he now seems to be closer to his desired move, with PSV accepting his wishes to move on after a good spell with the club since joining from Malmo in 2009.

Toivonen also has 33 caps and 6 goals for Sweden, representing his country at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and in Ukraine for Euro 2012 last summer.
