Marek Hamsik has dismissed rumours linking him with a move away from Napoli according to Goal.com.

The Slovakian had attracted interest from clubs throughout Europe following a successful season at the Italian club, with Chelsea said to be front-runners for the attacking midfielders signature.

However, Hamsik has said that he is happy in Naples, despite being the victim of three robberies during his time in the City.

“As I have always said, I’m happy to be in Naples and I do not feel any need to change teams and city,”

The midfielder also stated that he was very excited to be taking part in next season’s Champions League, having missed out on the competition last season.

Napoli recently appointed their replacement for Walter Mazzarri, former Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez.

Now that Hamsik has confirmed that he will be staying at Napoli, Benitez can turn his attentions to strengthening his squad and trying to keep striker Edison Cavani at the club.

Cavani has been linked with many of the top clubs throughout Europe, including Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Benitez also looks set to strengthen Napoli’s defence and is interested in Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel and Chelsea’s David Luiz.
