Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata has said he is making winning the Premier League title his main priority for next season, despite rumours linking him with a move away from the club.

The likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked with the 25-year-old, after rumours emerged that new Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho may be tempted to sell him this summer, though Mata himself seems firmly focused on achieving yet more success at Stamford Bridge.

The Spaniard has already won the Champions League, Europa League and the FA Cup since arriving in England from Valencia in 2011, but wants to complete his collection with the league title next year.

He told Chelsea’s official website: “Winning the Champions League, FA Cup and Europa League was great, but I really want to win the Premier League title next season. If we start well I think we can do it. We have a great squad and fantastic supporters behind us, so hopefully we can do it.

“For me it would be amazing to win four trophies in three seasons. It would be a very special feeling to win the Premier League title and I’m looking forward to hopefully doing so.

“I think we have the squad – we have enough class to do it.”

Mata is confident of success, and Chelsea have been made the bookies’ favourites to be next season’s champions after the return of Mourinho to the club. The Portuguese coach won the Premier League twice in his first spell at Chelsea, and won further league titles with Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
