Chelsea are ready to shift their focus towards Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski according to The Telegraph.

It is being reported that the club are ready to pull out of the race for Napoli’s Edinson Cavani as they believe the race for his signature is turning in to an expensive bidding war.

Chelsea will instead look to bring in Dortmund’s Lewandowski who has been widely tipped to leave the Bundesliga side this summer.

Lewanowski had been expected to sign for Bayern Munich this summer only for relations between Dortmund and Bayern to go sour, putting the brakes on any potential deal.

Manchester United are also thought to be showing an interest in the Polish forward but it now appears that Jose Mourinho is ready to pull out the stops to bring the player to London.

Mourinho knows Lewandowski’s talents well after the player’s goals unexpectedly knocked out Real Madrid during the Champions League semi-final stages last season.

Should the club fail to succeed in their attempts to bring in Lewandowski, they have drawn up a shortlist of alternatives.

Top of that list are Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic and Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney but the club are also reportedly ready to consider an approach for Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko.
