Manchester united a ready to throw their hat into the ring for Tottenham forward Gareth Bale and a are preparing a world record bid according to The Sun.

The Spurs winger has become one of the most highly sought after players in the game after an impressive season at White Hart Lane that saw him land the PFA Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year awards.

Those performances have not gone unnoticed and a host of top European sides are vying to tempt the player away from London.

Real Madrid were thought to have been favourites to land Bale but Spurs are remaining resolute in their determination to keep him.

Wealthy Ligue 1 champions PSG have reportedly also stated that they are willing to beat any offer made by Real.

But it now appears that Manchester United are ready to keen to keep the player in the Premier League and are preparing a huge £85 million bid for the player.

It remains to be seen how Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will respond. In the past, Levy has preferred to sell the club’s players to teams outside of the UK and has often demanded an additional fee for players should the bidding club be playing in the Premier League.
