Manchester United are ready to provide their new manager David Moyes with significant backing in the transfer market according to The Telegraph.

The Scottish manager took over the reins of the club at the end of the season following the retirement of club legend Sir Alex Ferguson.

Moyes is reportedly set to return from a family vacation in around ten days’ time and he is expected to immediately make moves for at least three of his targets.

Top of his list is reportedly Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas. Moyes has identified the central midfield position as an area which needs strengthening and believes the former Arsenal captain perfectly fits the bill of what he is looking for.

Fabregas has however hinted he may look to remain in Catalonia, which could see Moyes turn his attention to Fabregas’ Barcelona team-mate Thiago Alcantara.

Moyes is also thought to be keen to return to his former club Everton in order to secure the services of left-back Leighton Baines.

The Wayne Rooney transfer saga is set to roll on all summer but expect the England striker to leave the club should Moyes be successful in his attempts to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski.

The club are also keeping an eye on Tottenham’s Gareth Bale but will not stretch to the figures that have been quoted in recent days.

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo is similarly considered to be an unlikely acquisition due to his cost.
