Man United appear to be making in roads in their pursuit of Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio as Italian source TuttoSport reports that the Italian international is open to a move away from the Turin side he has represented since the age of seven.

Initially the Italian international had played down speculation of a possible Juventus exit but now the 27 year old is speaking directly about the possibility of moving to Old Trafford, also noting interest from Ligue 1 big spenders Monaco, so it does seem Marchisio could well be set to leave the Serie A title holders.

Juventus will reportedly demand €30m (£25m) for the attacking midfielder, which they will then look to use in their pursuit of Gonzalo Higuain, with Antonio Conte hoping to pair the Real Madrid forward with new signing Fernando Llorente.

David Moyes is keen to bring in a goal-scoring midfielder and having previously been strongly linked with the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas it appears that the new Man United boss is now hoping to capture Marchisio, who is currently away on international duty at the Confederations Cup tournament in Brazil.

Marchisio netted 18 goals in the course of the past two seasons, during which he has been a regular in Conte’s side that has clinched back to back Serie A titles.
