Zinedine Zidane thinks that Gareth Bale should hand in a transfer request at Tottenham in order to speed up the process of him joining Real Madrid according to the Daily Mirror.

The Real Madrid legend hopes to see the Welsh winger at the Bernabeu next season and the club are thought to be preparing a bid in the region of £85 million, a world record should Madrid submit the bid.

Zidane thinks that Bale should ask to leave Tottenham in order to force through the move.

“But if Gareth feels now is the time to move then he has to have a private  discussion with his club and express that he wants to leave,” said Zidane when asked about the rumours surrounding Bale.

Madrid paid a world record fee to Juventus to sign Zidane and the French legend has said that the club wouldn’t have a problem breaking the world record again.

However, Tottenham are playing hard ball at the moment and don’t want to let the Welsh winger leave.

The club are set to offer Bale a new contract and hope to keep him at White Hart Lane for at least next season.

Bale is understood to be happy at the club at the moment and has no intention of handing in a transfer request to force through a move to the Spanish giants.
