Paris St Germain are preparing to make a bid for Tottenham winger Gareth Bale in a plan to persuade Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas to takeover at the club, the Daily Mirror reports.

Villas-Boas turned down an approach from the French club last week, stating that he was happy at Spurs and didn’t want to leave the club after one season.

Now the French club are set to return and try to lure the Portuguese manager to the Parc-des-Princes by promising to buy Gareth Bale and David Luiz.

PSG are looking for a new manager with current boss, Carlo Ancelotti, set to replace Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid.

The French club have now turned to Villas-Boas as his replacement although they have also lined up Swansea City’s Michael Laudrup and Guus Hiddink in case they can’t persuade Villas-Boas to leave Tottenham.

However, the club are hopeful that they can bring Villas-Boas to Paris, especially if they can bring in Gareth Bale as well.

Losing both manager and star player would hit Spurs hard and chairman Daniel Levy will do everything in his power to try and keep the pair at White Hart Lane.
