Barca ace baffled by rivals willingness to spend so much money on one player.
Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has said that Real Madrid would be mad to spend so much money on Spurs ace Gareth Bale this summer, talkSPORT reports.
The La Liga giants have been heavily linked with making a big money move for the Welsh international with the fee increasing every time and Fabregas believes that spending so much money on one player, no matter how good he is, would be a foolish move.
“For me, spending £100m on Gareth Bale is foolish. I don’t know how any club could spend that amount of money in these circumstances,” the Barca man said.
“He’s a great player with all the right attributes, but we will have to see if Madrid sign him and if he can perform there.”
Fabregas himself has been the subject of much speculation this summer too, having being linked with a move to Manchester United, but he reiterated his desire to stay with his boyhood club come the start of next season.
“People talk a lot but the truth is that no-one has spoken with me,” he added.
“I want to triumph in Barcelona, that club is my home and I always dreamed of playing there, so I will try and succeed there as long as I can.”
