Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway is looking at ways to improve his Eagles squad ahead of what could prove a very tough Premier League campaign and having already been linked with an intention to re-sign Man United winger Wilfried Zaha on another loan spell the Selhurst Park side have now set their sights on an Arsenal youngster according to the Daily Mirror.

Holloway hopes to persuade Arsene Wenger to offer Crystal Palace the services of Costa Rican international Joel Campbell in what could be an ideal way to hand the youngster some much needed Premier League experience.

The 20 year old, who Arsenal signed in August 2011, has spent the last two seasons at Lorient and Real Betis, scoring six goals in 60 appearances, 24 of which were from the bench, and the speedy striker could be set to make an impact in the English top tier.

Campbell is unlikely to get much in the way of first team action at Arsenal, especially if Wenger manages to sign Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain this summer, and as such another temporary switch is likely and the Gunners boss has previously opted to blood his youngsters with loan moves to Premier League sides, having recently done so with the likes of Jack Wilshere and Ryo Miyaichi.

Clearly the chance to send Campbell to the South London club would also make it easier to monitor the young forward’s development.
