Real Madrid target Isco may be better off moving to Manchester City according to Marca.

The reason being that Madrid currently have 3 players who can fulfil the player-maker role and if Isco were to move to Madrid, he wouldn’t be assured of a starting place.

The Spanish giants already have Mesut Ozil, Kaka and Jese Rodriguez that they can use as a play-maker and Ozil is currently the clubs number one option in that role.

Despite many excellent performances for Spain’s under 21 side at the European Championships, Isco would probably start his Madrid career on the bench, something he has already said he would not except.

One of the main criteria that he will look for in a new club is whether he will start lots of matches.

He is more likely to that at Manchester City where his mentor at Malaga, Manuel Pellegrini, has recently taken charge.

Pellegrini knows how to get the best out of Isco and the player is likely to be central to his plans at the Etihad.

Isco will still have plenty of competition at City, with David Silva also being able to play in the play-maker role but Pellegrini is likely to try and accommodate both Isco and Silva in his starting line-up.
