New Aston Villa signing Jores Okore certainly made an impression on his first day with the club when he fell asleep during his medical with the West Midlands club, the Daily Mail reports.
The 20-year-old put pen to paper on a £4 million deal last week after Villa boss was attracted to his coolness under pressure – but now he must be worrying that the Dane is a little too cool!
Okore was taken to a private clinic that the club uses to put prospective new signings through the medical routine to undergo an MRI scan, which the player saw as a chance to get in a quick cat nap and not even the presence of the club’s media staff was enough to keep him awake.
“I just wanted to get the MRI scan done quickly. Boy was I wrong,” he said.
“I was placed in the scanner and started a two-hour session. I have to remain completely quiet.
“I’m listening to the radio and I’m wondering what it will be like. How my new life in Birmingham will be.
“Will I speak English with a British twang?
“But I dozed off after half-an-hour and woke up an hour later.
“I just thought to myself: “S**t, this is taking a decade.
“I started to feel a bit on edge but fortunately for me, the MRI scan was fine.”
