Cardiff will start life in the top flight with a tricky trip to West Ham on the opening day, before welcoming 2011/12 champions Manchester City to the Cardiff City Stadium on matchday two – the kind of big fixture the club’s fans have been dreaming about in their years of chasing promotion from the Championship.
Malkay Mackay’s side will come up against fellow new-boys Hull in their fourth game, before a home game against Tottenham, but will Wales’ national hero Gareth Bale still be with Spurs by that point?
Cardiff will finish their season at home to Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea, and will hoping to have secured safety by then after a run of games against other sides who could be with them in a relegation fight. They will have tricky away games to the likes of Southampton, Sunderland and Newcastle over April and May.
