Jose Mourinho has set his sights on a move to sign experienced Uruguayan international defender Diego Godin according to the Marca.

With speculation rife that the returning Chelsea boss may be ready to listen to offers for Brazilian David Luiz the Blues boss has been linked with a host of centre-backs who could replace the popular player this summer.

27 year old Atletico Madrid battler Godin would perhaps jump at the chance of a move to Stamford Bridge, perhaps feeling he has gone as far as he can at the Vicente Calderon side he helped to success in the Copa del Rey last season as well as a Champions League berth.

The former Villarreal man moved to Atletico in August 2010 and after six years in the Spanish top tier perhaps the fresh challenge of a move to the Premier League would tempt the powerful defender.

Mourinho may also be looking at possible defensive reinforcements due to the fact that captain John Terry may well be set for a limited role in 2013/14 having made just 11 Premier League starts in the last campaign.
