Derby showed some signs of improvement in 2012/13 as they put in a good challenge for the playoffs, eventually finishing 10th in a tight-run contest.
Nigel Clough will be looking to push on this year and guide the Rams back to the promised land of the Premier League after a five-year absence, and they will start the new campaign with a tricky fixture at home to Blackburn.
They will face other promotion hopefuls in August, as they come up against Brighton, Leicester and Burnley, and they will also meet newly-promoted Yeovil Town.
Their season ends with some difficult games that could have a major sway in the promotion stakes, as they play host to Watford and finish by travelling to Leeds.
