A look ahead to the key 2013/14 fixtures for Mick McCarthy’s side.
Ipswich managed a reasonably safe mid-table finish of 14th in 2012/13, but will feel they could do better this time as they have a manager with a proven record of getting sides promoted to the Premier League.
The Tractor Boys haven’t been in the top flight since their relegation in 2002, and will start their campaign with a tricky game against a Reading side that have just come down from there.
In a challenging opening month, they will meet other promotion hopefuls in Queens Park Rangers, Leeds and Birmingham, and these games could give some indication into how Ipswich will do this year.
They have a decent-looking run-in, with Bournemouth, Burnley and Sheffield Wednesday in their final three games.
