Sevilla midfielder Luis Alberto’s move to Liverpool has hit a snag as the Spanish side have yet to sign off on the deal, according to talkSPORT.

The 20-year-old returned from a holiday in the Dominican Republic to head to Merseyside for a medical but upon arrival he discovered that the two clubs have yet to agree terms.

Sevilla’s director of football Ramon Verdejo, confirmed that talks were ongoing to take him to England are in place but nothing has yet been agreed..

“Liverpool’s interest in Luis is real, but nothing has been signed. They’ve made the player a very important offer,” he told Sevilla’s official TV channel, La Bombonera.

Reports yesterday confirmed that the winger was in England to hook up with Brendan Rodgers and many had believed that a fee of £5 million had been agreed but the Spaniards are apparently hoping to squeeze a further £2 million out of the Reds before agreeing anything.

There is a further complication in that Sevilla boss Unai Emery is a fan of the player and would prefer not to lose him, with Liverpool likely to have to up their offer to secure a deal.
