Brazilian ace will not be heading back to Europe.
The agent of Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho has denied suggestions that the 33-year-old is set to return to Europe by joining Turkish side Besiktas this year, Sky Sports reports.
The legendary playmaker is still under contract with Atletico Mineiro until the end of the year, but has so far given no indications over if he will be staying with the club, and the uncertainty caused Besiktas vice-president Ahmet Nur Cebi to reveal that his side were keen to snap up the former Barcelona man this summer.
However, the player’s agent and brother, Assis, has moved quickly to deny the speculation linking him with a move to Istanbul any time soon.
“That possibility doesn’t exist, are you crazy? It looks like a joke,” he told Lancenet.
“Was it reported on one of those crazy sites? It doesn’t exist, it’s crazy talk.”
Ronaldinho returned to his homeland from Europe in 2011 when he joined Flamengo but he moved to Atletico Miniero a year later where he has gone on to make 49 appearances, scoring 19 goals.
Many had expected him to retire from the game once he left Milan, having previously won everything there is to win in football and there are still question marks over what his next move will be.
