After a bizarre season in which Wigan became the first ever team to both win the FA Cup and get relegated, the Latics will be preparing for life in the Championship in 2013/14.
Owen Coyle has been appointed the club’s new manager after Roberto Martinez’s departure, and has previously guided Burnley to the Premier League from the Championship in 2008/09.
Wigan will open their season away to Barnsley, and after the small matter of the Community Shield to deal with, they will continue with games against newly-promoted duo Doncaster and Bournemouth.
Coyle will be expected to bring the side straight back up to the top flight, and will have a tricky run-in to contend with as his team come up against Reading, Burnley, Blackpool and Blackburn in their final four games.
