Crystal Palace hope to bring winger Wilfred Zaha back to Selhurst Park on a season long loan but chief executive Phil Alexander has said that the decision is in the hands of Manchester United, reports Goal.com.

Zaha signed for Manchester United in January for £17.5 million but was immediately loaned back to Palace so he could help with their attempts at promotion.

The winger played a key role in the second half of last season and especially during the play-offs, where he scored twice during Palace’s semi-final against Brighton.

Manager Ian Holloway has publicly stated that he would like to see Zaha back at Selhurst Park next season as the Eagles try and stay in the Premier League but Alexander has said that it is out of Palaces hands.

“It’s another option, clearly that’s up to Manchester United,” he told Sky Sports News. “He’s their player now. Will we be asking? We’ll probably ask in passing but it’s really down to them”.

Whether Zaha returns or not, Alexander thinks that Palace have the foundations in place to stay in the Premier League however, the club are likely to sign some players during the summer.

The club have been linked with moves for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent and West Bromwich Albion’s Peter Odemwingie.
