Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski believes Robert Lewandowski would be a great fit at Arsenal, according to the Daily Star.

The Polish striker has been tracked by a number of Europe’s top clubs this summer after admitting he wants to leave Champions League runners-up Borussia Dortmund.

The 24-year-old was believed to be holding out for a move to Dortmund’s Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich, though his club have blocked the move.

This has seen the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona linked strongly with moves for Lewandowski, though Podolski believes the in-demand goal-poacher should turn down Europe’s big boys for a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Podolski reportedly told Polish newspaper Polska The Times: “He would fit ideally into our team.”

Arsenal have been known to be chasing a striker all summer, and Lewandowski could be available for the same price as their prime targets Gonzalo Higuain and Stevan Jovetic.

In recent times, Lewandowski is arguably the more prolific and in-form forward, but it remains to be seen if the man himself would join Arsenal when he is likely to have other offers open to him.

Podolski has also been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund at points this summer, though he has committed his future to the Gunners.
