Newcastle Chief Scout Graham Carr is reported by The Independent to be considering his future at the club as the fallout from the appointment of Joe Kinnear continues to rumble on.

Carr is highly rated at the club and in the game at large having identified a number of key signings for Newcastle in recent years.

It was felt that owner Mike Ashley appreciated what he brought to the club after the Newcastle owner handed him an unprecedented eight year contract.

But the structures at the club appear to have been blurred following the appointment of Joe Kinnear on Monday.

Kinnear gave an interview to talkSport on Monday where he claimed to have the final say of transfer decisions.

He also proceeded to get a number of the Newcastle players’ names wrong before referring to Llambias as ‘Lambeezee’.

Newcaslte manager Alan Pardew has remained stoic in the face of the controversy, insisting he wants to remain at the club and help them improve on their dismal showing last season.

But it is thought that Carr is ready to jump ship rather than begin the season working with Kinnear. Carr feels that he was a de facto Director of Football and has been undermined by the appointment of Kinnear.
