Real Madrid have reportedly sanctioned the sale Gonzalo Higuain to Arsenal according to talkSPORT.

There had been reports that Florentino Perez was planning to wait on agreeing or indeed announcing any player sales until a successor to Jose Mourinho was found, however this source states that the Bernabeu president has decided to give the go-ahead to the move now.

Wenger will hope the signing of the 25 year old Argentine will help end an eight year silverware drought and there is no doubting Higuain’s pedigree.

The Real Madrid man scored 16 La Liga goals last term, this despite the fact he only made 19 starts, and will hope to garner the regular first team football he was unable to secure during Jose Mourinho’s three years in charge of the Spanish giants.

Juventus are also said to be interested in Higuain but the Real Madrid man is apparently set on moving to Arsenal this summer.

Higuain may well be seen as the man to more adequately fill the void left by the departure of Robin Van Persie to Man United, with Olivier Giroud having something of an average first season at the Emirates Stadium.
