Liverpool have reportedly agreed a fee of between £11m-£12m for Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, Sky Sports reports.

The Reds have been interested in the Belgian goalkeeper for sometime now and are reported to have been in talks with Sunderland for the past few days about signing the goalkeeper.

Mignolet had a good season for Sunderland despite the club nearly being relegated.

The Belgian was certainly one of the only bright spots for the Black Cats last season but his impressive performances caught the attention of Liverpool.

With Liverpool making a move for Mignolet, speculation will increase about the future of Pepe Reina, the Reds current number one goalkeeper.

Reina has been linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer, with Barcelona thought to be interested in the Spaniard.

The Catalan giants may want to bring in Reina as a replacement for current number one Victor Valdes, who only has one year left on his contract and is set to leave for free next summer.

Valdes has said that he intends to stay at Barca until his contract finishes but Barcelona may take this opportunity to sell the goalkeeper and at least get some money for him.
