Spanish youngster Luis Alberto has become Liverpool’s latest signing of the summer, and is excited at the challenge of playing for a big club in the Premier League, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 20-year-old is relatively inexperienced at the top level, having spent last season on loan with Barcelona’s B team from Sevilla, with the Catalans opting not to sign him permanently.

Still, he is a highly-rated young talent and Brendan Rodgers has been determined to add him to his squad this summer, putting the finishing touches on a £6million move for him today.

Alberto will join fellow Spaniards Pepe Reina, Jose Enrique and Suso at Anfield, and could also be joined by Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas in the near future, in a busy transfer window so far for the Reds,

He believes the success of his fellow countrymen in England can give him confidence ahead of his move, saying: “I’m very much looking forward to it. I’m going to a club like Liverpool, a new culture, a new language. I have to adapt quickly but I’m really looking forward to this big step.

“There are many Spaniards in England and they are doing quite well. Seeing all of them succeeding there motivates me even more.”

Alberto is the second player arriving from Sevilla this summer, following Manchester City’s new signing Jesus Navas to the Premier League. Another Sevilla player, Ivan Rakitic, has also been rumoured to being a target for Liverpool.
