Spanish striker feels right decision was made.
New Liverpool striker Iago Aspas has expressed his delight at joining the club from Celta Vigo after finally completing his move to the Merseyside club, Sky Sports reports.
The 25-year-old banged in the goals that saw Celta safely navigate their first season back in the Spanish top flight and was quick to agree to become Brendan Rodgers’ first signing of the close season.
And he has admitted that the decision to join the Reds was an easy one after his 12 goals last term alerted Rodgers to his talents.
“It wasn’t a tough decision at all. I’m really happy to have come to a big club like this one.
“Having weighed up all my options for this window, a massive club like Liverpool was always my first choice.”
He was also asked about what his strongest attributes are, and what he can offer the side this season, to which he said: “I’m a quick and skilful player. Together we will achieve a lot of success.
“I’ve not had the chance to talk with the manager at any length just yet but I think that good players can slot into any role and not just one set position.”
