Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis has admitted that he needs to make a big decision regarding his future over the coming days, Sky Sports reports.

The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with moves to Swansea City and Premier League new boys Cardiff City in recent weeks, whilst Lyon are said to be engaged in ongoing talks with Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk over a potential deal for the France international.

Lyon are hoping to offload the powerful attacker in order to free up funds to build other areas of the squad as they look to re-establish themselves as a force in French football once again and challenge PSG at the top of the table.

And Gomis has admitted that he needs to make a decision soon, but will not be forced into a move against his wishes.

“I will choose where I play next season,” he said.

“It sounds like Lyon have already made their choice, but I haven’t.”

Reports in France suggest that Gomis is unhappy with Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas after he put a deal in place with Shakhtar after he told Aujourd’hui: “We have received an offer from Shakhtar Donetsk. It is a fantastic offer and we could agree with them.”
