Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts

Morelia winger Jefferson Montero is hoping to finally seal a switch to the Premier League this summer with a number of clubs all interested in landing his signature, according to Sky Sports.

The 23-year-old came close to joining Wigan Athletic in the January transfer window, only for the deal to fall through at the last minute.

However, he may finally get his wish this time around as the likes of Swansea, West Bromwich Albion, West Ham and Hull City are all lining up to take a closer look at him. All of the named sides are apparently willing to meet his £3.5 million buy out clause after scouts saw him impress during last week’s international friendly against Argentina.

“Jefferson is ready to move to England,” Dan Chapman of Full Contact confirmed to Sky Sports.

“We can confirm a number of clubs are showing an interest, which is not surprising after his performance against Argentina last week.”

Montero has already spent time in Europe with Villarreal, Levante and Real Betis, but made the switch to Mexican side Morelia after Villarreal were relegated to the Segunda Division last summer.

He wracked up 42 appearances during his time in Spain, scoring two goals.
