Montpellier midfielder Younes Belhanda has reiterated his desire to play in the Premier League despite mounting interest from elsewhere in Europe, Sky Sports reports.

Serie A giants AC Milan and Inter Milan, as well as Turkish side Galatasaray, are believed to have expressed an interest in the Moroccan ace, but it was English club Aston Villa who had emerged as surprise frontrunners to land his signature.

However, most sides have been reluctant to meet Montpellier’s asking price for the 23-year-old, hence why no move has been made yet.

The player himself has previously stated that he would relish a move to Aston Villa, or one of their Premier League rivals, but admitted his eventual destination is still a decision that is to be made by his current club.

“Nothing has been decided yet. My club wants €15million (£12.8m) and not many teams can pay that,” he said.

“I have always said that my preference would be England, but if they can’t agree a price with my current club then I will not go there.”

Belhanda has spent his entire career with the former Ligue 1 champions, making his debut in 2009. He caught the attention of Europe this past season from bagging 12 goals in 35 appearances.
