Real Madrid have completed the signing of Malaga midfielder Isco for a reported £23 million according to Goal.com.

The midfielder has signed a 5 year deal with the Los Blancos and has become Carlo Ancelotti’s first signing as Real Madrid manager.

Speculation has increased in recent days about Isco joining Real Madrid, with Madrid president Florentino Perez stating that a deal for Isco was close yesterday and the club have now confirmed it with a statement on their website.

“Real Madrid and Malaga have reached an agreement over the transfer of Francisco Roman Alarcon Isco, who will sign a five-year contract with the club,” a Madrid statement reads.

The statement also says that Isco will have his medical on July 3rd and will then be shown to the press at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Madrid’s signing of Isco will disappoint Manchester City, who looked close to signing the midfielder when Manuel Pellegrini became City manager last week.

It was thought that Pellegrini’s close bond with Isco could see the midfielder come to the Eithad rather than the Bernabeu but it seems that the lure of Real Madrid has proved too much for the young Spaniard.

Isco had become a key member of Pellegrini’s side at Malaga and will now try to break into a Real Madrid team that contains Mesut Ozil and Kaka in the playmaker roles.
