Napoli striker Edinson Cavani has told his family to keep quiet and has denied that there is already a deal in place to take him to Real Madrid, talkSPORT reports.
Both of the 26-year-old’s parents have gone public in recent weeks with their opinions over where their son will end up come September 1st with the consensus being that he will head to the Spanish capital despite links with Manchester City and Chelsea.
Napoli seem resigned to losing their star man, but he has waved away rumours suggesting that he has already agreed to join Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
“This is a good opportunity to tell the world that, when my family speaks, that isn’t Edinson Cavani speaking,” Cavani told Marca.
“I’ve asked my family thousands of times to please not talk anymore, because it harms me. I belong to Napoli and everything depends on that club. If at some point there is another option, we’ll see.
“What I want to do is sit down face-to-face with the president and decide my future together.
“Real is one of the best clubs in the world, but there is no deal yet,” he added.
“When we’re kids, we dream about playing at a team like Madrid or Barcelona, but right now I’m at Napoli and I’m very proud to be there. If I leave one day, I’ll be ready to move to a bigger club. We’ll see.”
