Lewandowski’s dream move to Bayern Munich won’t happen this summer because Dortmund refuse to sell the striker to their arch-rivals.
Chelsea will make an attempt to bring Robert Lewandowski to Stamford Bridge if they fail to sign Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, the Daily Mirror reports.
The Blues number one target this summer is Cavani but they will turn their attention to Lewandowski if Napoli continue to demand £53 million for the striker.
Also, the Uruguay international preferred destination is Real Madrid and if they make a move for Cavani, Chelsea will have no chance to sign the prolific striker, whose future will be decided soon after Uruguay were knocked out of the Confederations Cup.
Lewandowskil currently has one year left on his contract at Dortmund and has spoken of his desire to move to Bayern Munich this summer.
However, Dortmund will not sell Lewandowski to their arch rivals this summer and the striker may have to wait until next summer to join Bayern once his contract with Dortmund expires.
Chelsea may try and tempt Lewandowski into considering a move to Stamford Bridge and Dortmund are likely to accept anything in the region of £25 million for the Polish striker.
Manchester United are also interested in Lewandowski and would be disappointed if Chelsea are successful in bringing the striker to Stamford Bridge.
