Liverpool are considering making a bid for PSG defender Mamadou Sakho according to The Express.

The 23 year old centre back made his international debut for France against England at Wembley in 2010 on a night when the visitors came away with a 2-1 victory.

Sakho is highly rated by many within the game and is tipped to have a bright future. That prompted PSG to secure his services but the player has since failed to establish himself on the PSG starting eleven.

Sakho has reportedly become disillusioned with life at the Parc des Princes after repeatedly finding himself rotated by former boss Carlo Ancelotti.

PSG signed Brazilian defender Thiago Silva from AC Milan last summer and Sakho has found it difficult to break into the team ahead of him and his Brazilian compatriot Alex.

That seems unlikely to change even though PSG have now appointed a new coach in Laurent Blanc.

Liverpool are monitoring the situation closely as Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is all too aware of the lack of defensive options available to him.

Club legend Jamie Carragher retired last season and Slovakian defender Martin Skrtel is becoming increasingly vocal about his desire to move away from the club.
