Chelsea have reportedly seen a £5m bid for Norwich City keeper John Ruddy turned down by the Carrow Road side according to
Having loaned out Thibaut Courtois to Atletico Madrid for a third successive season and seen back-up keepers Ross Turnbull and Hilario leave the West London club it’s clear that Jose Mourinho could do with buying a custodian this summer to act as an understudy to Petr Cech.
The 26 year old Canaries keeper has greatly impressed since his move to Norwich City three years ago and has been capped at full England national level and as such the East Anglian side apparently want a bigger fee for Ruddy.
Jose Mourinho is keen on beefing up his ‘homegrown’ contingent and may see Ruddy as an ideal man to keep Cech on his toes but Norwich City’s apparent demand for as much as £10m, for a player that cost the club just £400k, is not likely to be a fee Chelsea are going to fork out.
Ruddy has made a total of 98 appearances for Norwich City since moving to the club in July 2010.
