Chelsea have agreed to let winger Marko Marin leave for Sevilla on a season long loan according to Sky Sports.

The Blues signed Marin last summer, paying Werder Bremen £7 million for his services but the winger has struggled to get regular first team games for Chelsea, often starting matches on the bench.

Chelsea recently signed Andre Schurrle from Bayer Leverkusen, meaning Marin was even less likely to play regularly this season and has taken the opportunity to move to southern Spain in order to get some first team action.

Marin didn’t make his first league start for Chelsea until late January, when QPR beat the Blues 1-0 at Loftus Road and went onto make only 16 appearances for the club throughout the season.

New boss Jose Mourinho was always going to see Marin as surplus to requirements, especially so since he acquired Schurrle and Marin will hope that a season in Spain will help him regain full fitness and return to his best form.

Mourinho is desperate to make changes to his squad this summer and Schurrle won’t be the only new addition to the Portuguese’s squad, with the Blues already eyeing up a deal for striker Edinson Cavani.
