Arsenal have reportedly agreed terms with QPR keeper Julio Cesar over a move to sign the Brazilian this summer according to TuttoMercato.

The 33 year old former Inter Milan custodian had a decent season with QPR last term, despite their relegation to the Championship, and looks likely to leave Loftus Road this summer.

Cesar has spoken of Harry Redknapp’s willingness to see the experienced keeper secure a move to a top league stating;

“There is some interest from other clubs but nothing is concrete. Harry Redknapp left the door open for me. I have three more years on my contract with QPR, Harry knows this, and he talked about me with the press.”

“He said, ‘Cesar can’t play in the Championship, he has to play in the Premier League, or Serie A’.

This source claims that Arsenal have offered Cesar a two year contract worth £3.4m a year and it does seem likely that Arsene Wenger would look to bring in an experienced keeper after an alarming drop in form from young Pole Wojciech Szcz?sny.

Prior to his move to QPR last August Cesar had spent seven seasons with Inter Milan, helping the San Siro side to five Serie A titles and a Champions League triumph.
