Kondogbia has been dubbed the new Patrick Viera by some pundits.
Manchester United are set to enter talks with Sevilla about the possibility of signing talented young midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, Sports Direct News reports.
Sevilla signed Kondogbia last summer from French club Lens and he quickly established himself in the Spanish sides midfield, becoming one of their best performers last season.
This has led to speculation that the midfielder could be leaving Sevilla for a bigger club this summer and Manchester United boss David Moyes is keen to sign a player who had been dubbed the “new Patrick Viera” by some football pundits.
United will have competition for the midfielder however, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur all monitoring Kondogbia.
However, all the other interested clubs have baulked at Kondogbia’s asking price of £15 million but United believe that they can sign the midfielder for around £8 million and will loan the 20 year old back to Sevilla to ensure that he is getting plenty of first-team football.
Sevilla are under pressure to sell some of their stars due to their financial situation and have already sold winger Jesus Navas to Manchester City for £17 million.
Despite Kondogbia’s talent, the Spanish club may have to let him go if another club makes them an offer they can’t refuse.
