Tottenham are going to turn their attentions to Aston Villa striker Christan Benteke as they look to add plenty of attacking options to their squad for next season, the Daily Mirror reports.

The North London club are set to sign Barcelona striker David Villa, with the only other interested party, Fiorentina, focusing more on signing Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez.

With the Villa transfer all but sorted, Spurs will now turn their attentions on Benteke as they look to sign at least two quality strikers for the forthcoming season.

Benteke had a fantastic debut season for Aston Villa, scoring 19 goals as the club narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League.

It is thought that Benteke wants to move to club that is higher up the Premier League table and has yet to commit his future to Villa by signing a new contract, opening the door for Spurs to make an enquiry.

Villa are desperate to hold onto their star striker and have slapped a £25 million price tag on Benteke in the hope that it will ward clubs off him.

That doesn’t appear to have worked as Liverpool are also monitoring the situation involving Benteke and could make a bid for the Belgian if he states his desire to move away from Villa.
