Giampolo Pazzini has said that he is glad that AC Milan have decided to keep striker Stephan El Shaarawy at the club, believing that the youngster will become an integral part of the Italian clubs first team, Goal.com reports.

A number of rumours have suggested that AC Milan are willing to sell the 20 year old following a poor second half of last season, with Chelsea said to be plotting a £30 million move for El Shaarawy.

However, Milan released a statement on Tuesday saying that the young Italian is not for sale at any price and Pazzini has welcomed the decision to keep a hold of the 20 year old.

“I never had any doubts that El Shaarawy would stay at Milan,” the striker was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.

“He is still young. It is true that he has suffered in certain situations, but he will learn how to deal with that. He has a lot of quality and will prevail and become important for Milan.”

El Shaarawy scored 16 goals in 37 appearances for AC Milan last season and is regarded as one of Italian football’s best prospects for the future.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is looking to re-enforce his attacking options this summer and reports have suggested that he has turned to El Shaarawy after being put off by Napoli striker Edinson Cavani’s asking price.
