Bundesliga side Schalke have ruled out the sale of star midfielder Julian Draxler this summer, Sky Sports reports.

The 19-year-old has been linked with summer moves to the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid after they all showed an interest at various points throughout the season.

Reports suggest that several enquiries had been made and lucrative offers were proposed, but the German side are refusing to budge over his future and are insisting that he will be staying put.

General manager Horst Heldt told BILD: “If there are further transfer enquiries for Julian Draxler, I will be fair to those clubs and reject them in a polite way.

“I have been a player myself but I have never been confronted with the money Draxler has during these transfer discussions. If I was him, to be honest, I would have thought things over. But he has made the right choice. It is great that he is staying at Schalke.

“It is not guaranteed that he will be on the move next summer, but we are experienced enough to know that there will be further enquiries in the years to come.”

Peruvian forward Jefferson Farfan has also been heavily linked with a move away this summer, but the club have also denied that he will be moving on.

“We are continuously receiving transfer enquiries for Jefferson Farfan, but we do not mind.

“We have no intention of selling Jeff and he has no clause to get out of his current deal.”
