Swansea City have made their interest in FC Twente winger Nacer Chadli official, by making a £6million bid for the Belgian, according to Wales Online.

Having already confirmed the signing of Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey for £5million this week, manager Michael Laudrup is wasting no time in registering his interest in Belgian winger Nacer Chadli. Currently applying his trade in the Eredivisie with FC Twente, Chadli’s representatives have made it no secret that their client is interested in a move to the Premier League.

With Liverpool also reportedly interested in the attacker, Swansea will have to act fast if their wish to secure their man. With 14 caps for Belgium to his name, Chadli, 23, has only 12 months to run on his current contract with Twente, showing no desire to sign on for the long-term, and the club are willing to cash-in on him.

Swansea reportedly offered in excess of £6million for Chadli, however, the Dutch club are looking for closer to £8.5million if they wish to purchase Chadli. Lokomotiv Moscow are also keen on acquiring Chadli this summer.

Following an impressive 9th place finish last season in the Premier League, and also winning some silverware in the form of the Capital One cup, Swansea are looking to sign some European quality talent if they wish to go far in the Europa League this term. Chadli, along with other reported Targets Wilfried Bony and Batefembi Gomis are exactly the kind of quality additions that will make Swansea competitive for regular European football, along with the likes of Liverpool and Everton.
