Both West Ham United and Cardiff City are reportedly interested in signing free agent striker Javier Saviola on a Bosman transfer, according to the Daily Star.

Sources in Spain suggest the recently released Malaga striker Javier Saviola is on the radar of both West Ham and Cardiff as the clubs look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the the upcoming Premier League season.

The Spanish striker, formerly of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Benfica before making his way to Malaga, is in search for a new club following the expiration of his contract this summer. Both Cardiff and West Ham have been prepared to spend big this summer. The Blue Birds have made an £8.5million bid for Saint-Etienne defender Kurt Zouma this summer, as well as smashing their transfer record with the signing of Andreas Cornellius for £8million from FC Copenhagen.

Meanwhile, the Hammers are actively looking for a partner for striker Andy Carroll, who also joined for a club record fee from Liverpool this summer, but appear to have exhausted most of their available options. A bid is on the table for Vitesse striker Wilfried Bony, while they remain hopeful they can acquire either Romelu Lukaku or Demba Ba on a season-long loan from Chelsea this summer.

The 31-year old striker has 193 career goals to his name, and could be the ideal experienced signing a newly promoted club like Cardiff could use during their first Premier League campaign, following the release of Heidar Helguson earlier in the summer.
