Manchester City have turned their attentions to Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic if their search for a new striker, the Sun reports.

The Sky Blues are down to just two first team strikers in Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko following Carlos Tevez departure to Juventus last month.

The club were looking into signing Napoli front-man Edinson Cavani but were put off his asking price so have now turned their attentions to Jovetic, who announced last month that he plans to leave Fiorentina.

The striker has said that he wants to leave Florence in search of a fresh challenge and wants to play for a club that is competing for silverware every year and is playing in the Champions League.

City look set to step up their interest in Jovetic buy bidding £27 million for the striker, which would activate the Montenegrin’s buy-out clause.

The Sky Blues will have competition for Jovetic however, with Arsenal and Chelsea also interested in bringing the striker to the Premier League.

However, it is City who are front runners for the striker and they built up a good relationship with Fiorentina last summer following their acquisition of defender Matija Nastastic.
