Brazil star could now remain in his homeland this summer after all.

Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts

Internacional have not received any offers whatsoever from Serie A outfit Napoli for in-demand front man Leandro Damiao according to the Brazilian club’s president Giovanni Luigi, reports Sky Sports.

The Brazil international has been the subject of much talk of late suggesting that the forward was on the verge of a big-money move to Europe when the summer transfer window had reopened at the start of this month, with the likes of Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton both said to be interested in bringing the 23-year-old to the English top flight for next season.

However, as yet Damiao is still very much an Internacional player, with Luigi revealing that despite reports to the contrary in the Italian press recently, Napoli have not made any offer to secure the centre forward.

“I have not even received a call,” Luigi told Globo Esporte.

But where exactly that leaves Tottenham in the battle to land Damiao, who has scored an impressive 82 goals in just 147 matches in all competitions since making his debut for the Brazilian giants back in 2010, is still not exactly certain.

The north Londoners have been tracking Damiao for longer than other other rival suitor, with the club just failing to land the attacker in the recent January transfer window, only for the deal to collapse at the very last minute.
