Crystal Palace line up a £2.5million bid for want away West Bromwich Albion striker, Peter Odemwingie, to partner new signing Dwight Gayle upfront according to the Daily Mirror.

Ian Holloway has begun the transfer window strongly, bringing in two players quickly, and looking to fill the void left by Wilfried Zaha. The Eagles boss is now assessing moves for a shortlist of strikers to help his fight for Premier League survival.

The Nigerian forward previously tried to leave the Hawthorns back in January as he turned up in London to force through a move to QPR, which results in an apology from Peter and a disciplinary ruling.

Albion wish to offload Odemwingie so they no longer have to pay the Nigerian’s high wages, hence why the £2.5million fee is lower than the one they rejected back in January, as Steve Clarke looks to transform West Brom to a consistent top 10 team after finishing in 8th last campaign.

Palace will also look to sign free agent Carlton Cole and Newcastle United’s Dan Gosling as the newly promoted side look to add depth to their squad. Dan Gosling should be available for as little as £1million as Alan Pardew and co look to make room for new recruits, such as Aston Villa forward Darren Bent.

Whilst, former Palace winger Wilfried Zaha looks set to stay and fight for first team football at Old Trafford this season after Holloway confirmed he will not be trying to loan him back again, hence his move for 31 year-old Odemwingie.
