Anfield club desperate to hold on to Uruguayan striker.
Liverpool have held talks with the representatives of Luis Suarez as they hope to put an end to the speculation that he could be set to leave the club this summer according to The Daily Mail.
The Uruguayan striker has been the subject of almost constant conjecture in recent weeks after declaring his desire to leave Liverpool because of what he perceives as unfair treatment by the English press.
Suarez hinted that he would like to play for Real Madrid but so far, no bids from the Spanish giants have been forthcoming, and it has been suggested the club are waiting until the end of the transfer window in an attempt to force down his price.
That does not sit well with Liverpool who are keen to avoid such speculation in order not to disrupt their pre-season preparations.
Arsenal are known to be also showing an interest in the striker and reportedly had an offer of £30 million turned down. That bid is not too far away from the £40 million release clause that would force Liverpool to allow Suarez to talk with the Gunners.
Chelsea are also understood to be monitoring his availability after they missed out on his compatriot, Edinson Cavani, who is set to move to PSG.
