Bernard recently revealed that he has five offers on the table for a move this summer.
Liverpool look set to step up their interest in Atletico Minero midfielder Bernard after missing out on Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who moved to German club Borussia Dortmund, Sports Direct Newsreports.
Spurs were thought to be front runners in the race to sign Bernard but have now cooled their interest in the midfielder having recently sign Paulinho from Corinthians for £17 million.
This leaves Liverpool free to try an negotiate a deal for the highly rated play-maker, who was part of Brazil’s successful Confederations Cup squad.
The 20 year old is thought to be available for between £15-20 million, less than what Liverpool would have paid if they had been successful in signing Mkhitaryan.
Bernard is thought to be interested in a move to Europe, where most of his countrymen now play their football.
Liverpool are also understood to be interested in Ajax’s young midfielder Christen Eriksen, who is available for around £15 million because he has entered the last year of his contract.
The Reds have been interested in Eriksen for many years and may now take this opportunity to sign the highly rated Dane or they could instead make a move for Bernard.
