Liverpool’s want away striker Luis Suarez has said that he is flattered by reports linking him with a move to Arsenal, Goal.com reports.

Reports suggested that Arsenal had submitted a £30 million bid for the striker which was then rejected by Liverpool.

Suarez agent Pere Guardiola has held talks with Liverpool’s hierarchy over the strikers future and has said that the Uruguay international wants to leave Anfield so that he can play in the Champions League.

The player himself has stated that he is flattered to be linked with Arsenal and said that one phone call could change his current situation.

“There have been no offers yet, but Liverpool know exactly what is going on and what I want,” Suarez told Uruguayan radio station Sport 890.

“My agent is in charge, he knows what I want, I am resting and relaxed. I am due back in about ten days, on the 21st of July, [but] a phone call could change everything.

“It is good to know that I am still valued by teams like Arsenal. Friends call me up to ask if I am moving to Chelsea, to which I laugh.”

Liverpool are desperate to keep Suarez at Anfield this season despite the strikers continued attempts to engineer a move away from the Reds.

Although both Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in Suarez, it is understood that Real Madrid are his preferred choice and has spent most of the off season flirting with the Spanish giants.

Liverpool have said that they won’t consider offers of less than £40 million for Suarez and will hope that the price will put off interest from other clubs for Suarez services.
